Maybe it's because I am an older gamer, but I enjoy the challenge video games can provide. Now I know why I didn't like Skryim the game as released by Bethesda the game was stupidly simple and held your hand every step of the way. Some suspension of disbelief is still needed of course - it's still a game. It really improves the immersion factor of the game for me. I love the fact that almost no information is presented to me unless I actively go searching for it in the game or when in a battle (for example) the number of arrows left in the quiver is shown.

Almost all the mods that I added were related to realism - contextual HUD, reworked gameplay rules to make the game more challenging, AI improvements, having to worry about environmental conditions and eating/sleeping/drinking in the game, improved textures, and so on.
Most of the weekend was spent going over the many mods and getting the game working with them, NMM and Boss being the biggest help. After seeing a couple YT vidz about Skyrim mods I decided to give it another shot. After playing it for about 3 hours to give it a chance, there was something about it that I didn't like and have not played it since. I bought Skryim about a year ago because a friend finally convinced me that it was an incredible game that deserved my attention, me being a fan of RPG games anyway.
